Our Story

How it all started...

In January 1995, Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington started as a mission with eight people. By April that year, God blessed the church with 40 members and the congregation chartered as an Independent Baptist Church on April 30, 1995, under the founding pastor, Kelly D. McInerney.

Expanding the vision...

Since that time, the Lord has sent steady, consistent growth to the church, and today Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington is the largest church in Clinton County history.  After out-growing two downtown storefront locations, the church moved into the historic Murphy Theater for its services.  Four years later, the church built its current facility on 32 acres west of Wilmington.  An administrative wing was added in 2004, and in April 2011 a 1,200-seat worship auditorium was completed.

In addition to making a great impact in Wilmington, BBC has started churches throughout Ohio in Springfield, Chillicothe, Marysville, Greenville, Amelia, and Northmont.

Where we are headed...

Today at  BBC you will find exciting events and ministries as well as a congregation of compassionate people who love God and count it a joy to serve in the various ministries offered at BBC. You will see their love for the Lord in the smiles upon their faces and the warm, friendly, and welcoming environment you feel the moment you walk through the door.

Our desire in everything we do is to honor our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As long as the Lord tarries, our goal is to continue to reach the lost for the cause of Christ. Knowing that the church is the "pillar and ground" of the truth, we are committed to the teaching and preaching of the Word of God.
